Augusta National is well-known throughout the golfing world for its immaculate conditioning, presenting impeccably manicured playing corridors, pine straw-lined fairways, flower beds dotted throughout, beautifully tended ponds – and wildly sloping putting surfaces! Golf fans the world over will recognize holes 11 to 13 by their nickname of “Amen Corner” but there are a few other names at Augusta National which are probably just as well know, including the Butler Cabin, Eisenhower Tree, Ike’s Pond and Rae’s Creek.

Champion and Challenger 9’s: The 18-hole championship course that the pros play in the PGA TOUR’s Arnold Palmer Invitational. This par-72 course is 7,300 yards long from the back tees and has four tee boxes. It features undulating terrain, water hazards, and strategically placed bunkers.

Created by internationally renowned golf course architect Gary Roger Baird, Dragonfly features generous sized rolling fairways, giant oak trees, large green complexes, over 80 sand and waste bunkers, as well as six water hazards, all complemented by the natural beauty of the surrounding San Joaquin River habitat and panoramic views of the Sierra Nevada Mountains. Dragonfly has no houses, no traffic noise, no parallel fairways and thus those who come to test their skills will find themselves in one of the most serene settings in golf.

The internationally acclaimed Estancia Club showcases an 18-hole championship golf course that was meticulously crafted by Tom Fazio. The Gold Mountain Olympic Course is a challenging, hilly golf course with tree-lined fairways, significant elevation changes, and undulating greens, considered one of the best public courses in the Seattle area; designed by John Harbottle III, it features generous driving corridors despite the thick Pacific Northwest forest, with the most notable challenge coming from the complex greens and a few water hazards, particularly on the dramatic final few holes where a drivable par 4 finishes the round; often considered more difficult than the other course at Gold Mountain, the Cascade course, due to its steeper terrain and demanding green complexes.

A challenging, yet friendly, 18-hole, par 72 course designed by Jack Nicklaus. The course is known for its immaculate conditioning, strategic hazards, and elevation changes. It features narrow fairways, bold bunkering, and water hazards on 11 holes. The back nine is considered to be superior terrain with excellent risk/reward holes. The course also features a meandering creek that holes were strategically routed around.

The New South Wales Golf Club is a links-style golf course designed by Alister MacKenzie and Carnegie Clark in December 1926. It consists of 18 holes, two of which are beside the Tasman Sea and Botany Bay. The stretch of holes from the 5th to the 7th is generally considered to be NSW’s best. NSW perennially rates in the Top 6 courses in Australia and in the world Top 50.

Golf Digest’s 2018 Best New Golf Course of the Year, Streamsong Black designed by acclaimed architect Gil Hanse is a dazzling Par-73 championship layout offering breathtaking views of the vast landscape, which includes flowing elevation, rolls, tumbles and sand ridges akin to the Sand Belt Region of Melbourne, Australia. Streamsong Red is like nothing you’ve ever played. Eastwood Golf Club offers 18 holes of golf that wind through pine, maple and oak trees, with challenging elevation changes that add to the course’s natural beauty. Victoria National
Victoria National Golf Club in Indiana is a private, championship golf course that’s considered one of the most visually striking courses in the United States. The course is routed through an old quarry site and features a variety of holes, including par 3s that play around water. The course includes a five-hole “Gauntlet” that some say is a series of thrill-ride holes. The 18th hole is considered particularly challenging, with a difficult tee shot and a second shot that’s guarded by deep bunkers on the left and open water on the right.

Waialae Country Club is a private country club in East Honolulu, Hawaii. Founded in 1927 and designed by Seth Raynor, it is a par 72 championship course at 7,125 yards from the Championship tees. From the Members tees at 6,456 yards, the course rating is 71.8 with a slope rating of 136.

Waikoloa Beach
The Beach Nine is a must-play, featuring generous landing areas from the tee boxes and large greens surrounded by low-lipped bunkers to reward the social golfer. Hole #6 is the highlight of this loop, a par-five that plays on an emerald ribbon of fairway between black lava fields down to the ocean, then takes a hard dogleg-left to a putting surfaced ringed by swaying palm trees and backed by Pacific waves, creating one of the most beautiful and memorable holes in Hawaii. The Lakes Nine winds its way through the heart of the resort, taking its name from the bodies of water that come into play on five of the nine holes. This classic resort-style layout, part of the original Beach Course built back in 1980, will not beat you up with length, but does require strategic shots to avoid lava and water trouble.

The 18-hole “Whispering Pines” course at the Whispering Pines Golf Club facility in Annandale, Minnesota features 6,421 yards of golf from the longest tees for a par of 71. The course rating is 70.9 and it has a slope rating of 129. Designed by Joel Goldstrand, the Whispering Pines golf course opened in 1986.

The West Course at Winged Foot Golf Club in Mamaroneck, New York is a private course that’s considered one of the most challenging layouts in the country. The course’s greens are considered some of the most dramatic and challenging in golf, with slopes and contours that are not commonly seen at other courses. The 10th hole is considered one of the best par threes in the world, and the par-5 16th hole is known as “Hells-Bells”.
